This informative discussion helped parents understand the realities of substance use among middle school students. The event included a review of the latest local data, shared important facts about the substances most often encountered at this age, and offered practical strategies for talking openly and effectively with children.
Speakers 

Raven Twilling - Born and raised in Mill Valley, California, Raven graduated from Tamalpais High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and Gender Studies from Scripps College. For the past three years, she has worked with Bay Area Community Resources and Marin County Health and Human Services in substance use prevention, focusing on tobacco and nicotine prevention. Her work includes community outreach and education, youth engagement, and public health policy advocacy, with a commitment to building healthier, nicotine-free communities.
